We went to the movies during cny weekend and decided to do something different by watching a hindi movie called 3 Idiots at Rex Cinema.
The movie was wowowow, one of the best movies (not just the best hindi movie, best movie) I’ve watched in a while, a million times better than slumdog millionaire and in my opinion, everyone should watch it. Especially Singaporeans because the pressure to excel in school and the need to pursue your dreams were major plot themes in the movie.
And watching the movie at Rex was interesting! Old school cinema without all the Hollywood advertising anywhere, quite a breath of fresh air really!
It’s nice to take time to do something for the first time, don’t you think?
My Saturday was so awesome that I’ve decided to post the photos in parts.
First part – breakfast. Which was really at 2pm, but we got breakfast anyway because I wanted kaya toast and erfen, being the awesome boyfriend that he is, gave in to me, hehe.
That is one teeny, tiny cup of tea. However, the kaya toast was passable. (I have high standards!)
When you see many old uncles sitting watching telly (usually football, today a Chinese New Year special) and drinking beer, you know you’re in a real coffee shop. That, and lime juice in a Tiger Beer mug.
Love the crack-it-yourself eggs, not loving the more-than-soft-boiled consistency. It is an art! (I totally take Yakun for granted)
I spy a heart, do you? And just in time for valentine’s day too 🙂
Ooh and Happy Chinese New Year to all those who celebrate it! I’m loving the long weekend, but gosh, it’s hard to go out and do stuff when the shops are closed!
Also, I’m taking part in Blog It Forward, a blogger mash-up organised by Victoria of sfgirlbybay.
It’s kind of like a chain letter for bloggers where we blog about what inspires us, it’s pretty cool and you can read Victoria’s first post here. 300 bloggers are taking part in it and I’m excited to be part of it! (Though the paranoid in me is feeling stressed about it as well) Here’s a list of all the blogs taking part, it’s fun to see what people are inspired about!
Oh gosh, I haven’t blogged for almost a week!
But really, nothing much happened because work was so busy and it’s 2nd week of training so I was running 4 times last week! Eek!
Also, an incident this week got me thinking about my career.
I’m one of those people who’s doing something totally unrelated to what I studied in school, and believe me, I’m loving it.
But of course you get the heat from people who can’t seem to understand why.
Do any of you get this too? It can be mighty frustrating.
The only thing to do is to know that you love what you do, batten down the hatches, work harder, think about your career progression and the hardest bit – make the people who don’t understand, understand.
Either that or ignore.
And now I am eating an orange for breakfast (ie. life goes on.) and enjoying the morning.
Also, here’s a question: How do you travel AND save money?
