I am officially in love with the photos of Max and Margaux’s DIY wedding.  Their stop-motion wedding video on Cup of Jo was what got me hooked- fun ditty, groovy moonwalk moves, picnics with little tykes, happy smiles all round – you’d love it too! And ps: Max is a photographer and took photos of Jo’s wedding photos and now famous blog header. Love.

Happy Friday my pretties!

Today I’m sharing with you some new things in my life:

1. New cameras

Diana from colleagues, Superheadz Yellow Peace from myself, hehe. So happy!

2. New hair

I’m sorry Snake! (the Korean hairstylist that cut my hair in Aussie, hehe) I couldn’t stand the frizziness so I went straight.

3. New job

Sadly, I’ll be leaving Katong and good ol’ Phish, these guys will always have my heart. My colleague Juli said that she wrote “See you” on the cake because she doesn’t like goodbyes. So sweet eh? (cake from Awfully Chocolate)

4. New family

Yep, my mom got married recently and I’ve gained two sisters and a dad! It’s been awesome having them and I’ve never had sisters before so it’s been quite fun! (: Cheers to family.

And to end it off, here’s a delightful video – It’s beautiful, haunting and ephemeral all at the same time and it made my day. I hope you like it too. Have an excellent weekend lovelies!

when i grow up

My very talented friend Mr Ripley Shermeen Tan is organising a showcase for her school, Orita Sinclair, on Friday, 30 July.

Called “When I Grow Up: a showcase”, it will be held at their school in Pahang Street (that’s near Arab Street, you cool kids!) and will feature the works from their students. Oh, and there’ll be free beer too for you beer-enthusiasts out there.

I’ll be heading down after work, and you should too if you wanna check out some cool works, meet new people, or if you just need a reason to go to Arab Street, hehe.

And yes, for those who were wondering, shermeen likes to use her friends in her design work – it’s a difficult job, but someone has to do it! 🙂

downunder dress-up

Hi lovelies! I wanted to blog earlier but my internet’s at home been super wonky so I couldn’t go online for a few days! Ughh but thank god it seems like I’ve managed to work around it.

So I’ve been looking at my Aussie photos and wondering how exactly to blog about them – so I’ve decided to take the safe route for now and present to you my outfits! I must say that it’s really fun to dress up when you’re on holiday, you can kinda throw caution to the wind and wear whatever you want.

Layered tank tops, jeggings from uniqlo, boots and my trusty green jacket. Hungry Jacks in the background which is their Burger King. We found this playground near the train station and decided to play on the swings!

Top from Supre, leather jacket from Benetton, tights, boots. Taken at the WWII memorial at King’s Park.

Tiger top from some random shop in Fremantle, green jacket from before, bandage leggings from lucydacyd, headband from diva, boots. I wore the tiger top to Caversham Farm, thinking that I might scare the animals, but as you can tell from the second photo, it was really the other way round!

Peterpan top from mama’s vintage (now defunct online store), jacket from Mango, leggings, boots. (That’s my mom!) Photo taken at Shoe Show, which stocks the highest, most bad-ass heels ever, which unfortunately I am not made for.

Mango military jacket, jeggings, combat boots from Rubi which I scored for AU$49.90. Photo taken at Sorrento Quay.

Still at Sorrento Quay, exactly the same outfit as before except with the addition of a hat I bought rather impulsively, hehe.

Black striped top from Valley Girls, inner white top from Topman, black skirt from stephie’s shop, headband from diva, pink tights, boots, green jacket. This was a rather out-there outfit that got me called “pocahontas” the whole day. Photo taken at the Cannington Sunday Market. The fries we bought from this snack shop was salty and greasy and just really perfect.

Black dress from lucydacyd, grey cardigan (a gift), belt from Supre, tights (gift), pink striped socks, boots. Photo taken at Riverview Drive on a ridiculously beautiful day.

And….that’s all! Phew! Now, to sort out all the other photos I took.

I collected my toy camera photos today, got a few nice ones which I love to share with you guys! Unfortunately my stepdad did not seem to like them, even after I tried explaining to him about the concept of toy and lomo cameras, sob.

Hello fellow superheroes!

Ever since I came back, it’s been busy busy busy and ironically I just need some time to breathe and really do nothing, paint my nails, clean my room, etc.

I’ve two weddings to attend this weekend, but I hope to steal some time to really just laze around at home or maybe go for a nice brekkie somewhere with erfen. Poor boy’s been in reservist for 3 weeks so I’m looking forward to seeing him again! (:

Tonight I’m going to send my 3 rolls of film for processing. Rather nervous because:

a) it’s my first time shooting with my toy camera

b) I didn’t really take that many photos with my digital camera

so fingers crossed that I get some decent photos! In the meantime, I promise to show you some of the shots I got off my trusty digital camera – many outfits to show you, it’s quite exciting!

Have a great weekend all! If you need some entertainment, do check out the Mr World 2010 videos on youtube, they are hee-larious I tell you!

Hi lovelies! I’m backkk! (:

Thank you to my lovely guest bloggers for keeping chai&biskut safe and warm, I enjoyed reading the posts so much and looked forward to reading them every single day! Massively big warm fuzzy hugs to Zee, Sarah, Sherms, Nicole, Melly, Sandy, Z, Faiz, Liyana and Squid for making when the nabbycat’s away such a success!

There’s so much to say, but I’ll keep it short for now. In the meantime, hope you enjoy this video by Ingrid Michaelson, called “Maybe”.

Ouh hello there.

I don’t have pretty photos or delicious recipes. I don’t even have things to say much about nabby that hasn’t already been said. (Baby cat you’re awesome you know that right? Nuff said. )

So..

I’m gonna tell you a story instead.

Once upon a time, there was a planet named Zoga. Zoga was very much like Earth, only cooler and with zero gravity so everyone was floating to where they need to be. Everyone was really happy and no one worked for money. There was even Mc Donalds and Popeyes and name any favourite food restaurant you like and they all had lesser calories. And since money didn’t exist it was all free. And no one in Zoga could get fat unless they want to be fat, because fat is not a bad thing because in Zoga no one can be unhealthy. There is a healing atmosphere that they breathe in that heals everything. And there are no terminal diseases so smoking does not cause cancer.

Everyone has a kitten or a puppy or an owl or a pet they love and no pets ever get abused, neglected or mistreated. Everyone is in love all of the time and got to love and be loved by the love of their life and of course no one fell in love with the same person. There was no such thing as hate, jealousy, worry and all the negative feelings you can ever think of. Everyone was genuinely nice and caring, and we always have enough time to do what we want. Art projects, travel, dinner parties, write a novel, learn a new language, sing and dance. Everything. And nothing was impossible. Nothing.

And nice fantasy stories like these don’t have endings.

Hah. For your info, I called in sick from work today and I am blogging this from my bed the best I can, trying not to let the drowsy meds get to me. I will get better later and read this post and slap my head for sounding a little bit weird and misplaced. But hey, its all good. =)

Have a great week everyone.

AND WELCOME HOME SOON NABBYCAT!

(Thanks for letting me guest blog! *hugs*)

love, squid.
