rainy friday

it’s Hari Raya Haji today! The family went to the grandaunt’s place where I met my cousin who studies in NZ. I almost hyperventilated when I found out that she doesn’t know who Ris Low is! So I put the video on her Facebook. Haha.

Anyway, no photos of today but I do have this photo of me and erfen taken during Hari Raya visiting.

Hee.

My mum is cooking nasi briyani now, it smells so good!

Anyway, I really like this outfit.

I love how colourful her shrug is (issit a shrug?), and the lines of her shoes. Geometrically awesome! Her smile is kinda cute too.

Happy Friday everyone! Here’s to a long weekend well-deserved.

We were supposed to go to Fika again today for a meeting, and I was mighty excited because it was a breakfast meeting and I love me my breakfast. (They have pancakes! I die for good pancakes!) They weren’t open yet at 10.30am though, so we settled with another cafe nearby called B’s Bakery which was pretty good too.

Anyway, I am in love with this outfit.

So nice isn’t it? It’s handmade by British designer Nadia Izruna aka Nadinoo. I love her stuff, they’re all kinda pixie-ish and sweet sexy. I went to her blog as well, it’s pretty cool and I was pleasantly surprised that she’s having a November giveaway for her pixie’s blouse dress! Contest ends November 29 and you can check it out here.

Also, I am addicted to this song. Are you? Her crazy eyes are kinda freaky though!!

Selamat hari raya haji and happy long weekend to everybody!

in a fika state of mind

Went to Fika yesterday for lunch. No photos because it was a business meeting.

The decor is lovely, white, Swedish design (or at least what I think is Swedish design since I’ve never been there). Their website is cute too. I just love that moose!

Verdict is, great food but be prepared to spend $20-$30 if you order the mains. And you should, I had the grilled chicken which was quite divine, I was trying to sop up as much of the yummy gravy as was humanly possible. The potatoes that came with my chicken were soft and just perfect.

The owner, Tasneem, came out to say hello as she knew some of my lunch companions. And then she sweetly gave us complimentary Pea Soup and Tomato Soup with bread! (Trust me when I say that the pea soup is AWESOME) But then again, I’m very biased towards soup.

The meatballs were nice too. Honestly speaking, they weren’t mindblowingly fantastic, but for someone who can’t eat the famed IKEA Swedish meatballs, I guess this is a good alternative. That, or making my own.

After that Tasneem offered us some tea and coffee too. I got English Breakfast, which was kinda bitter. I don’t even know why I ordered it, I tend to do things like that when I don’t have time to think. In the end I put like 4 tsp of sugar in it (!!!) in order to make it sweet enough. I read on someone’s blog that they have Chai Masala tea? I’ll gladly try that next time.

I’d definitely go there again. Maybe not everyday, but it’s definitely a nice place to have a treat. Plus they have great service too. The next time I go, I’d love to try their breakfast and their cakes! Anyway, check out their website, it’s pretty sweet. Oh, and they recently opened Fika Upstairs, which seats 80-100 and would be perfect for a private event.

Now I wish I had taken some photos! Oh and they had some IKEA furniture too! (or at least their glasses, hehe!)

Ooh, I found this on the Fika fb page, and turns out it was taken by talented sherms! 🙂 Let’s go there together soon shermie!

teach me how to pose

Hello! Am trying to blog more regularly from now on.

Anyway, here are 2 outfits that I wore this weekend. We celebrated Erfen’s birthday, it was really nice, but very tiring, one of those weekends where you have so much fun and then you feel tired the rest of the week. But it was worth it!

Top: Uniqlo men’s undershirts

Skirt: black chiffon skirt from the lovely stephie’s shop!

Stockings: H&M (i think)

Boots: My mom’s! (so awesome)

Top: Erfen’s Topman top that he didn’t want anymore because it was stained blue in the wash

Dress: From a random shop in Bogor, Indonesia

Stockings: Blue argyle socks, my brother’s, they are so nice!

Shoes: Cream oxford flats I bought at a flea market (though they hurt when I don’t wear them with socks)

Bag: Flea market

Ring: Made by my friend, Sharyn (you can find them at Coalition Store)

Obviously I haven’t mastered the art of taking outfit shots yet. It feels so awkward still. I don’t know how people like Valencia and Qin do it.

Old blog didn’t feel like me anymore. So I moved.

Anyway, here’s a nice old photo of me. My brother looks rabid.
